— Right next to Brooklyn Bridge and on top of the Manhattan Municipal Building you’ll find the statue Civic Fame. So far up, that you can barely see any details of the statue. It’s nice - but the reason it’s one of my favorites is because of the woman who modeled for it. Audrey Munson. She did for many statues. But few know of her! That’s why you’ll always hear me tell her story on any of my tours where one of these statues is present. And sure, once you hear her story and combine it with the grand building that is the Municipal building you’ll find yourself with a certain feeling of sadness. I know I do! Book a Downtown tour with me and see for yourself. Links in bio!

— In Little Senegal, part of Harlem on West 116th Street right off Malcolm X Blvd you’ll find this charming outdoor market where immigrant vendors have a large selection of homemade or imported goods from their respective home countries in Africa. If you visit on a good day, you may hear music or smell food. But even on a ‘bad’ day you’ll be welcomed with big smiles and hospitality. A stable on my Uptown tours in Harlem. Book one for yourself - link in bio.

People have asked me why I love New York so much. People have asked me why I love New York so much. The first thing that attracted me was the “anonymity”.

You are free to be whoever you want to be and if you prefer to momentarily vanish into the night you can too. #danishtourguide #turistinewyork #ilovenyc #queensny #queensnyc🗽

— I know Central Park already earned a spot on my favorites but I feel as if it’s justifiable to mention the northern part of Central Park as well. Why? Because very few of the tourists I work with has any idea what’s going on up here. Central Park was designed to be a place for city dwellers to find peace and relaxation. But the landscape architects took it one further in the design of the northern part; the intention was for visitors that could not afford to travel to feel as if they had traveled somewhere else. Upstate NY inspired and today the trees are blocking out the sounds from the surrounding city so yes… if you closed your eyes and I could teleport you right there; you wouldn’t guess that you’re in the mjddle of Manhattan. Enjoy fall foliage on one of the tours offered by the @centralparknyc

— Now I’m not saying you shouldn’t go with one of the cruises the companies offers in NYC. The once I’ve done are great. But I am saying that if you’re traveling on a budget @nycferry could be a great, actually wonderful alternative. Yes, not as much space but they do have the amenities and different ways of saving extra on the fare. Kids under 44 inches ride for free. And you’ll get the exact same views as any of the cruises and even more on certain of the routes. As it is a commuter ferry you’ll be able to get off the ferry in the different neighborhood which the cruises does not allow you to do. Buy direct on app, website or at the dock.

— Its not a station. It’s amazing. It’s captivating. It’s not just a place where you catch a train. It’s worth a visit but a walkthrough isn’t sufficient. You need to stop, learn and admire .. If you do you’ll have so much more appreciation for New York City history in the 20th century. If you join my Midtown Wonders tour you’ll get an appetizer of what I mean. But you can also book the Official Grand Central Terminal tour (bonus: I worked on that project behind the scene for some months last year) with @walkstours - Find the links in bio!

— Sure, you can walk over the magnificent Brooklyn Bridge near by. But do you know what you can’t do? Ride atop a double decker bus with wind in your hair and an amazing view of several neighborhoods in both Manhattan and in Brooklyn. Bonus: you also get great view of the two other bridges crossing over East River connecting Brooklyn and Manhattan. Want to remember them: think BMW; Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridge. Get a good deal to @bigbustours on my website and see for yourself. Link in bio.

— In 1811 it was determined the layout of streets and avenues in Manhattan. Very few alleyways exist but one of them is in Chinatown. It’s super creepy but also very attractive to me. It’s like getting the chance to see what NYC looked like in the gritty old days. And you can too! Join me on a Chinatown & Little Italy tour. Booking links in bio.
